How to delete a GPT Protective Partition under Windows XP

  1. Use the ‘DiskPart’ tool on the XP command line:
  2. use ‘LIST DISK’ to find the volume number of the GPT volume, then use ’SELECT’ 'DISK #' to focus on it
  3. then use the ‘CLEAN’ function
  4. then type 'CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY'
  5. then 'EXIT' to exit the DiskPart tool
  6. then just use windows to format
